Lilja was raised in a bohemian household in Portland, where they were encouraged to explore their creativity and intellect. They moved to New York to study philosophy at Columbia, and now teach existentialism and ethics at a small liberal arts college. In their free time, they create provocative performance art pieces that explore themes of sexuality, identity, and human connection.
